# Review Generation System

Setup time: 20 minutes to install. 5 minutes per job forever.

This is the COLLECT step of The GBP Trifecta. Reviews compound: more reviews = higher rank = more searches = more reviews. Start now.

---

## The Core Principle

You are not begging for reviews. You are removing friction so happy customers can leave one.

95 percent of your customers WOULD leave a positive review if you made it stupid-easy. Most owners never ask. Or they ask once, weakly, in a way the customer forgets in an hour.

The system: ask at the moment of maximum satisfaction (right after the job) with a direct link they can tap.

## The Ask Timing

The best time to ask for a review is within 60 minutes of the customer being happiest. That's usually:
- Right after you complete the job on-site
- Right after they see the "after" result
- Right after their first successful use of your product
- Right after a memorable positive interaction with your team

Never wait until "tomorrow." Never bundle it into an invoice email. Both cut response rate by 60-80%.

## Pick One Method (Not All Three)

### Method A: Verbal + Text (recommended for solo / small teams)

Right at job completion, look them in the eye:

> "If you liked the work, would you leave us a Google review? It really helps us out. I'll text you the link right now."

Then, before you drive away:

> Text: [Template 1 from templates.txt]

**Response rate: 40-60%.** Highest of any method. Requires you to actually do it. Skip once and the habit breaks.

### Method B: Automated Follow-Up (recommended if you have a CRM)

Set up a workflow:
- Trigger: Job status set to "Complete"
- Delay: 24 hours
- Action: Send SMS with Template 1
- If no response after 4 days: send Template 2 (email version)

**Response rate: 15-30%.** Lower than verbal but runs even when you forget.

### Method C: Handoff Card

Print business-card-sized cards with a QR code that opens your review link directly.

Front: "Loved us? Let others know. Scan → 60 seconds → Google review."
Back: Your logo + phone + website.

Hand one to every customer as you leave.

**Response rate: 5-15%.** Lowest, but zero effort per job. Good as a supplement to A or B.

## Generate Your QR Code (5 minutes)

1. Get your GBP review link (Home tab → Ask for reviews → copy short link)
2. Go to qr-code-generator.com (free) or your favorite QR tool
3. Paste your link
4. Download as high-res PNG or SVG
5. Send to a print shop (Vistaprint, Moo, local printer) — order 500 cards, $30-60

Every customer leaves with one.

---

## Respond To Every Review Within 24 Hours

Google's algorithm weighs response rate. And humans read your responses when deciding if they trust you.

Positive review: Template 3
Nuanced review: Template 4
Negative review: Template 5

Never argue. Never explain in public. Always take negative reviews offline.

If you resolve a negative review, wait a week, then ask the customer to update or add a comment noting the resolution. Don't ask them to delete.

---

## The One Metric

Reviews per month. That's it.

Target:
- 3 or fewer per month: below the threshold to move rank
- 4-6 per month: healthy compound
- 7+ per month: aggressive growth mode

Log every month. Aim for a slow steady climb.

---

## Common Mistakes

- **Asking via email only.** Emails have 20% open rate. Texts have 95% open rate. Lead with text.
- **Copy-paste review response.** "Thanks for the review" 40 times = Google penalty and looks lazy.
- **Never asking negative reviewers to update.** After you resolve their issue, ask them to reflect the resolution in a comment or updated star rating.
- **Buying reviews.** Google catches this. Full profile suspension is a common punishment.
- **Only asking your best customers.** Ask every satisfied customer. You want volume AND diversity of reviewer types.
