Word-for-word responses to the 30 objections that actually kill deals. Every script attributed. Nothing invented in a marketing meeting.
30 verbatim scripts. Every one attributed. Voss, Cialdini, Sandler, Ziglar.
Everything in the Kit

- The Voss 7-tool toolkit. Mirror, Label, Tactical Empathy, Accusation Audit, Calibrated Questions, "No" Pivot, Magic Email.
- The "No, No, Yes" sequence. How to run a whole call, not just a single line.
- 10 AI prompts to generate industry variants, softer tones, firmer tones, text and email versions.
- 5 KPIs with green/amber/red targets so you know whether the guide is actually moving your close rate.
- Common Mistakes. Five moves that kill more deals than any objection.
- Walk-away script and criteria. When to close, when to loop back, when to hang up cleanly.
CHAPTER 1The 15-Minute Quick Win
Skip everything else in this preview. Read this section. Deploy the script on your next call.
Most price objections dissolve if you do one thing. Label the emotion behind the objection before you touch the price.
That is it. That is the move. Chris Voss calls it a Label. FBI hostage negotiators use it on people holding hostages. You will use it on a prospect holding a credit card.
The One Script
The prospect says: "That's more than I was expecting."
You say:
Then you shut up. You count to four in your head. You do not fill the silence.
Watch what happens. In roughly 8 out of 10 calls, the prospect will talk. They will tell you what they were expecting. They will tell you what the real number is. They will tell you what they compared it to.
You now have the real objection. Not the surface one. The real one.
You are not losing sales because your product is worse. You are losing them because you never memorized the response.
Why It Works
Cialdini's Influence (1984) documented seven mental shortcuts humans use to make decisions under pressure. When you label a prospect's emotion accurately, you trip two at once: liking (they feel understood) and reciprocity (they now owe you a straight answer).
Voss's Never Split the Difference (2016) called this Tactical Empathy. His FBI unit used it to talk people off ledges. Same neuroscience. Different stakes.
You did not manipulate. You listened out loud. That is the difference between selling and pressuring.
CHAPTER 2The Voss 7-Tool Toolkit
Every script in the full kit is built out of these seven moves. Learn the moves, and any objection in any industry becomes a variation on the same theme.
Voss (2016) documented these six moves plus the Magic Email after 24 years running FBI hostage negotiations. Gong.io's 2020-2022 analysis of 519,000 sales calls confirmed the same moves work verbatim in B2B sales. Nothing invented. Nothing proprietary. They work because they were built on research, not on ego.
CHAPTER 3Three Scripts, The Big Three
Three objections handle more lost revenue than the other 27 combined. Price. Spouse. Stall. Here is the verbatim script for each, straight from the guide.
Script 1: "It's too expensive."
Why it works. The Mirror gets them to elaborate. The Label lowers defensiveness. The Calibrated Question makes them reveal the real number, which is almost never what they said first.
Script 18: "I need to talk to my spouse/partner."
Why it works. Sandler Institute (2021) data: spouse objections that end without a scheduled joint call ghost 68 percent of the time. Ones with a scheduled call close 41 percent. Voss's Accusation Audit names what everyone is already thinking, which removes its power.
Script 8: "I need to think about it."
Why it works. "Let me think about it" is almost never about thinking. It is about something specific they have not said yet. The calibrated question surfaces it. Gong 2022 data: "let me think about it" without a scheduled follow-up closes at 6 percent. With a scheduled follow-up call, closes at 34 percent.
27 more scripts inside. Price (7), Time (5), Trust (5), Spouse (4), Fit (4), Stall (5).
CHAPTER 4AI Prompt Pack (5 of 10)
Copy these into Claude, ChatGPT, or your AI of choice. Fill the brackets. Get industry-specific variants in seconds. The full kit ships ten. Here are five.
Five more inside: Email Translator, Post-Call Recovery, Spouse Handoff, Objection-to-Question Reframer, Weekly Call Review.
CHAPTER 5Track These 5 Numbers
You cannot improve what you do not measure. Log these five weekly. Adjust one variable at a time.
Common Mistakes (3 of 5)
Mistake 1: Refuting instead of labeling. Prospect says "this is too expensive." Rep says "actually, ROI over 12 months is cheap." Wrong. The prospect shared a feeling, not a math problem. Refuting a feeling with math triggers Voss's "denial reflex" and the prospect digs in harder. Right move: label first, math later.
Mistake 2: Arguing on price. Prospect says "can you do it for less?" Rep says "I can knock 10% off if you sign today." Wrong. You just taught every future prospect that your price is negotiable. Right move: flex on scope, never on price for the same scope. Sandler's "reverse" question protects your margin.
Mistake 3: Missing the spouse objection. Prospect says "I need to talk to my spouse." Rep says "great, let me know." Wrong. That deal has a 68 percent ghost rate. Right move: joint call scheduled, or coach the prospect on exactly what to say at home and book a follow-up for after that conversation.
Full kit covers Mistake 4 (closing too early) and Mistake 5 (ignoring the first "no").
The One Thing To Do Today
Before you close this page, do this one thing:
Write down the ONE objection you hear most often. Read Script 6 (the silence move) three times out loud. Time the four-second silence with a watch. Get comfortable with it. Deploy on the next call.
It doesn't have to be that way. Most reps accept every soft "later" they hear. They pile up their pipeline with 30 stalls that will never close. Then they wonder why their quarter is dead. The reps who close instead of stall are not smarter. They are willing to ask one more question when the easy exit is available.
